About us

Khenzur Rinpoche Lobzang Tsetan, a Ladakhi Buddhist monk and Tibetan Buddhist Philosophical teacher, founded the school in1995 in his home village of Stok, Leh-Ladakh. . Located in the isolated Himalayas of northern India.

Siddhartha High School offers classes from pre-primary (Nursery) to Class 10. In Nursery, we admit 30 students each academic year, with admissions beginning in the first week of October. Our teaching methods involve integrating everyday life activities. We encourage play, show rhymes on TV, provide various toys, create a homely environment, and promote outdoor play. Additionally, we emphasize artistic learning and participation in dramas to foster creativity and engagement.

"Together let's learn and teach the importance of values and ethics so that our children create a beautiful world.

Our core philosophy emphasizes valuable academics combined with cultural and heritage education, aiming to instill values in our students to help them become responsible citizens.

His Holiness Khenzur Rinpoche Lobzang Tsetan

I feel these children are special to me because, as a Buddhist monk, I have been trained in Buddhist philosophy, emphasizing love, compassion, and care for others above oneself. I love children, especially the worthy students of Siddhartha High School. I consider them the seeds for the future of Ladakh and the world. I believe they will bring peace and harmony through what they learn at school. I deeply thank all the sponsors and donors, including Siddhartha School Partnership USA, Les Enfants Du Sourire, Switzerland, and all other supporters worldwide, for their kind and continuous support. May the blessings of the precious Triple Gems be upon you forever.

I have been the member of the Society since the school was founded and it brings immense pleasure to me every day to serve the school with all my efforts. It is an honor for me to work with our dearest founder Khenzur Rinpoche Lobzang Tsetan who dedicated his precious days of his life to develop the school. I as the Secretary of Siddhartha Culture and Welfare Society would like pay my sincere gratitude  to all the other members of the Society, Managing Committee of the school, Principal and all our dynamic and dedicated teachers who are the backbone of the school to get the school to the higher level. I hope to work with you all to uplift Siddhartha High School in future with best of my endeavor. Wish you all best of luck.

As I start to write my thoughts a lot comes to my mind. I feel great to share with you all. I am very blessed to work with such dedicated, innovative and caring staff members, parents and students. It always gives me great pleasure to see the sea of smiling faces of children and I must say that on many days it is the students who make my day a little brighter. If there is one thing that can change the world, it is education and schools are pillars of formal education. Along with the formal education to the students, this school aspires more, we believe in experimental learning, teaching with values, focuses on the social emotional learning. “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I may remember. Involve me and I learn”. We believe that each child is unique. We take parents’ support to know more about the child, so that we come together on the child’s strength and help him/ her in the journey to discover himself/herself. I also want the children to be passionate about their dreams. I wish to empower our children with the courage to continue believing in themselves even in the face of adversity. The school also provides encouragement to the children for self growth and helps them experience sense of achievement and joy.
